Baked Chocolate Hazelnut Doughnut Holes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup finely ground hazelnuts
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup finely chopped hazelnuts
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2-3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Sprinkles optional
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, finely ground hazelnuts, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl
Beat the egg, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl
Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
Take care not to blend too much
Add the finely chopped hazelnuts and chocolate chips and mix them in
After greasing a donut hole pan or tiny muffin tin, fill each cavity about two thirds full with batter
If a toothpick is inserted into a doughnut hole, it should come out clean after baking for 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated oven
As the doughnut holes bake, make the glaze by combining milk, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder in a bowl and whisking until well combined
After baking, allow the doughnut holes to cool in the pan for a few minutes, and then move them to a wire rack to finish cooling
Once the doughnut holes have cooled, dip them into the chocolate hazelnut glaze and, if preferred, sprinkle some on top
After a few minutes, let the glaze harden and savor your baked chocolate hazelnut doughnut holes!
