Perfect Mince Pies



These Perfect Mince Pies are a traditional holiday treat. They are filled with sweet mincemeat and covered in buttery shortcrust pastry.

Ingredients:

  • 400g mincemeat
  • 320g shortcrust pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten, for egg wash
  • Icing sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 200C 180C fan

Roll out the pastry on a floured surface and cut out circles to fit your tart tin

Press the pastry circles into the tart tin

Fill each pastry case with mincemeat

Cut out smaller circles or stars from the remaining pastry and place them on top of the mincemeat

Brush the tops with beaten egg wash

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown

Allow to cool slightly before removing from the tin and dusting with icing sugar
